Preparation and Usage
Chestnut mushrooms have a strong taste and meaty texture, ideal for use in rich meat or game casseroles or in place of closed cup mushrooms in sauces, omelettes and stuffings.
Wipe the surface of each mushroom thoroughly with damp kitchen paper. If required, thinly slice a section off the base of the stalk and discard.
Always wash work surfaces, cutting boards, utensils and hands before and after disposal of packaging.
At home best kept in the fridge
Adults should eat at least 5 portions of different fruit and vegetables each day. Fresh, frozen, dried, canned and concentrated fruit and vegetables all count towards this. For more information visit www.co-op.co.uk/food or Freephone 0800 0686 727.
