Preparation and Usage
Trim the base of each stalk. Gently wash under cold running water, avoid damaging the top half of the spears.
Always wash work surfaces, cutting boards, utensils and hands before and after preparing food and after disposal of packaging. Wash fruit and vegetables before use.
At home best kept in the fridge
A healthy diet contains lots of fruit and vegetables, is based on starchy food such as wholegrain bread, pasta and rice and is low in fat (especially saturated fat), salt and sugar. Adults should eat at least 5 portions of different fruit and vegetables each day. Fresh, frozen, dried, canned and concentrated fruit and vegetables all count towards this.
